Update on the Kiddos
If you read last week’s post, you would know my kids are having serious potty issues.  Well, as it turns out, my daughter appears to be lactose intolerant.  The doctor says the issue is just showing up now possibly because if she had a recent virus, that irritates the lining of the stomach and intestines and can highlight any dietary issues they may already have.  So, we did not see these symptoms before but now we do.  So we are further researching her diet to determine if this is indeed the cause, and so far it looks correct.  We took her off milk and put her on lactose free milk and she seems fine.
The craziest thing is, now after knowing the symptoms of lactose intolerance, I have determined I have it as well!  For years I have suffered with stomach issues but have always attributed it with other types of foods although it has not been consistent.  I often have issues after eating Mexican food and thought it was due to peppers, but when I eat Indian or Asian which also has peppers it didn’t bother me.  Now I know it’s probably the cheese in all those dishes.  Also, I used to love eating steak with Swiss cheese and mushrooms but got sick every time I ate it.  In that case, I thought it was the mushrooms!  I’ve never been a milk drinker so I never attributed it to milk.  But I love cheese and now I know I have problems every time I eat it! Bummer!

 Pickles!
My son has eaten 7 jars of homemade pickles.  (Not all at once of course.)  He loves my pickles better than the store bought kind!  So proud!

Cupcake Wedding Cakes
So I have seen this phenomenon on Pinterest a few times now.  It’s a wedding cake made from cupcakes.  People…this is cute for kid’s birthday parties…it is beyond tacky for a wedding.  That’s just my opinion…but it’s a very valid one.

  1. Your opinion is the only one that counts on this blog! I’m with your boy, love pickles. I’ve made my own once so far, went well so not sure why I don’t repeat it. I have a ridiculously easy (two step) Raspberry Jam/Jelly recipe I must put out there too, you just reminded me somehow. That’s cool, kind of, that your daughters intolerance led you to yours. Except for the lack of cheese. Gee I love cheese!
